Google Docs Viewer Supports 12 New File Formats

The Google Docs is a great way to view attachments without having to save them to your computer’s hard drive. Now, it supports more file formats. Additions include common file types like Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and more technical types like .EPS and .PSD files. Now when you are opening files from your Gmail account, embedded in Web pages or in Google Docs, you will be able to open far more file formats that you did before.

Here is the list of the 12 new file type

– Microsoft Excel (.XLS and .XLSX)

– Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 / 2010 (.PPTX)

– Apple Pages (.PAGES)

– Adobe Illustrator (.AI)

– Adobe Photoshop (.PSD)

– Autodesk AutoCad (.DXF)

– Scalable Vector Graphics (.SVG)

– PostScript (.EPS, .PS)

– TrueType (.TTF)

– XML Paper Specification (.XPS)

In Gmail, these types of attachments will now show a “View” link, and clicking on this link will bring up the Google Docs Viewer.
